Once upon a time there was a little kid who didn't play super well with other other little skids
But they found one or two who didn't make them feel all alone
As they got older and started to change
Their understandings drifted yeah they couldn't stay the same
And that's fine we don't all have to like the same shit
Eventually modalities based on dominant moralities come to permeate those friends' behavior
And no matter how much you try and try and try
They'll never be your comrades
So remember
Just because you were friends in high school
doesn't mean they don't think that someone should rule
And just cause with them you had it made
It don't mean they've got your back on the barricades
So if you want to love them (and you should!)
Don't get frustrated when you're misunderstood
Do it from a distance so you're not exhausting time
Trying to organize with people who think that's a naive rhyme
Find the folks who think like you and want to smash the state
Racist prison systems and class determined fates
They're out there everywhere just waiting for you
To wake up and join them in fightin for what's true
Love your friends and cherish them try and help them to see
Most of their problems come from hierarchies
And remember
Just because you were friends in high school
don't mean they don't think that someone should rule
And just cause with them you had it made
It don't mean they've got your back on the barricades
But I do, I do, yeah fuck I do!
So maybe, just maybe
We should be friends
